Continuing the collaboration to nurture young voices and youth engagement

At Arendalsuka
Eteren AS
Kavli Trust continues its support for Jungeltelegraf1 and a new project that gives young people valuable work experience.
Through youth employment, Jungeltelegraf1 produces content for podcasts and social media, ranging from light-hearted and entertaining to complex, challenging and serious, with the common theme of addressing issues that affect young people and their daily lives. The aim is to strengthen young people’s mental health, reflective skills, and participation in democracy.
Now, Eteren AS, the non-profit organisation behind Jungeltelegraf1, aims to expand the concept into a nationwide youth media platform. The project Youth Jobs with Impact!, receiving NOK 1.5 million from Kavli Trust over 2025–2027, is part of this expansion.

Young voices
Eteren AS
From exclusion to influence
The project combines work experience with accessible civic engagement. Young people—particularly those at risk of social or educational exclusion—have the opportunity to develop professionally, socially and personally through work experience as media producers and hosts.
While gaining meaningful, hands-on experience, participants also create content on important issues for other young people. In this way, the project aims to boost young people’s confidence in their own voice and influence.
In a complex media landscape, where fake news, misinformation and echo chambers are part of daily life, strengthening young people’s ability to navigate this environment is also a key aim of the project.
With support from the start
Kavli Trust has supported Jungeltelegraf1 since its launch in 2021, contributing funds for the start-up, production, and distribution of the youth-led current affairs podcast, covering topics that are both personal and socially relevant, chosen by the young producers themselves.

Facts about Eteren AS and Jungeltelegraf1
- Jungeltelegraf1 is owned by the non-profit Eteren AS, founded by Mattias Ørn Alman-Kaas and Monika Forvik in 2020.
- It produces a current affairs podcast by young people, for young people. The young hosts and media producers ask questions, reflect and share experiences both in the podcast studio and at events such as Arendalsuka.
- The aim is to promote young people’s mental health and reflective skills through digital communication and media production. Reflective skills help young people understand themselves, others, and society, supporting them to make good decisions and navigate their lives.
- Eteren AS also developed the project First-Time Voters, supported by the Election Directorate in Norway during the 2023 local and regional elections, to increase youth voter participation.
- Kavli Trust has collaborated with Eteren AS since 2021, providing start-up and production funds for several episodes of Jungeltelegraf1.
- The foundation continues this collaboration through support for Youth Jobs with Impact!, distributing NOK 1.5 million over three payments in 2025–2027.
- The project will give young people—especially those most at risk—work experience, strengthen their belief that their voice matters, and equip them to navigate a complex media landscape shaped by echo chambers and misinformation.
