Support Areas
The Kavli Trust owns the entire Kavli Group, including Kavli and Q-Meieriene in Norway. We donate 100% of our profits to good causes! Something we have done since 1962. In total, we have contributed over NOK 1.3 billion to charitable purposes.

Most of the Kavli Trust's funds are allocated to projects in the three countries where the Kavli Group produces food: Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. The remaining funds are directed towards international development projects.
Our goal is to create positive ripple effects in people's lives, local communities, and society at large.

Board priorities
The Kavli Trust's board has adopted two strategic focus areas towards 2030:
The Kavli Trust prioritises projects that contribute to achieving four selected Sustainable Development Goals:

Independent and unconventional
The Kavli Trust supports research that prevents and combats serious illness and humanitarian need.
We are an independent actor, aiming to play a role where public funding falls short.
We strive to be a first responder for applied research that:
- Is innovative
- Bridges real knowledge gaps
- Lacks support from traditional sources of funding
Willing to take risks
The Kavli Trust dares where others hesitate. Our high tolerance for risk and willingness to take bold decisions in our allocations are among our greatest strengths.
We support, for example, early-stage projects where the probability of success may be moderate, but where the potential societal impact is significant if they succeed.
We take a conscious and balanced approach to risk, choosing a risk profile that ensures the Kavli Trust contributes substantially and sustainably over time.

Partners in a shared mission
The Kavli Trust views all grant recipients are partners in a common project.
We connect people with shared goals to foster collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and learning. This means we set clear expectations regarding activities, outcomes, and methodology, but we are also committed to being a strong and supportive partner.
We actively encourage co-creation and co-funding across our network of partners.
