Stronger communities with Gleding

Gleding is about strengthening belonging, safety and life skills in children’s everyday lives. When children are given space for joy, connection and movement, we build the foundation for good mental health – something society needs more of.
Gleding
Gleding is a preventive initiative that strengthens relationships, belonging and life skills early in life. With support from the Kavli Trust, children, parents and professionals gain practical tools to build safer and more inclusive environments.

NOKAbout the project
Gleding CoParent and Gleding Education is a research-informed digital platform designed for early childhood education settings, schools and parents. The project addresses key societal challenges, including rising mental health issues among children and young people, weakened social skills, increasing school absenteeism, and fragmented collaboration between home, school and community.
Increased screen time and busy family lives have reduced meaningful interaction between children and adults. At the same time, schools and early years settings face limited capacity for psychosocial support, while parents increasingly seek accessible, practical guidance.
The purpose of the project is to strengthen children’s social and emotional skills, increase parental confidence, and equip professionals with effective tools to create safe and inclusive learning environments.
The intended societal impact is improved mental wellbeing, higher levels of inclusion and belonging, reduced school absenteeism and fewer children experiencing long-term exclusion.
