With profits from Kavli, Kavli Trust has supported Guttas Campus since it was established in Oslo in 2019. In 2021, support is being extended to Guttas Campus Vestland with a grant of NOK 1.5 million, while Kavli Norway is also increasing its involvement.
“We are proud and delighted on behalf of everyone working at Kavli,” says Krisine Aasheim, CEO of Kavli Norway.
Through the “Delaktig” scheme (meaning ‘participation’), Kavli employees have the opportunity to get involved and lend a helping hand in projects that receive funding. This year, however, participation was not possible due to strict COVID-19 restrictions.
“We plan to get even more involved at next year’s learning camp on the west coast, and we are really looking forward to it,” adds Aasheim.

“Coming to work each day knowing that we are supporting important causes such as Guttas Campus is incredibly motivating, especially in these challenging times,” she continues.
Supporting local initiatives
The Kavli factory at Midtun in Bergen is the heart of Kavli Norway. Here, every single tube of Kavli spreadable cheese is produced, eventually reaching breakfast tables and packed lunches across Norway.
“It is gratifying that some of the profits also go to local initiatives. It gives us the opportunity to meet the people involved and see the positive impact our support creates,” says Aasheim.

Positive outcomes for the boys
Kavli Trust continues to strengthen its work on improving children and young people’s mental health and living conditions, which remains a high priority in its funding strategy.
“Guttas Campus is an important project for us. They can document very positive results from all completed learning camps, and the majority of the boys who have participated are still in school and motivated to continue,” says Inger Elise Iversen, General Manager of Kavli Trust.
The evaluation report from last year’s learning camp in Vestland shows significant improvements in math, reading, and writing, similar to the results from all cohorts in Oslo since the project began in 2018.
“We are very pleased with these results and the feedback we have received, and we look forward to following the development of Guttas Campus Vestland in 2021,” Iversen adds.
