Kirkens Nødhjelp (Norwegian Church Aid) is one of Norway’s largest humanitarian organisations. From 2021 to 2024, Kavli Trust is supporting their Waste for Value project in Ethiopia. The project creates jobs for women by establishing cooperatives for collecting and managing plastic and paper waste in environmentally and climate-friendly ways.

The Waste for Value project has created new jobs for women in Ethiopia through the collection and recycling of plastic and paper. At the same time, it has shown that empowering women and increasing their income opportunities can benefit entire families.
Kavli Trust supports Waste for Value and the expansion of the project to additional cities in Ethiopia, with a total contribution of NOK 5.5 million for the period 2021–2024.
